Kedgeree (ked-je-ri) is such a unique name for a rice dish. This dish originated from the UK and is commonly made with smoked, salted fish like haddock or cod. But I can’t get stuff like that here so I just used fresh salmon. But I think it’s okay to use any sort of fish to […]

Whenever we have dim sum for brekkie, hubster would not fail to order his favourite loh mai kai. Unless the shop has very good standards for loh mai kai, my constant peeve with them is that they tend to be overly greasy. I hate greasy loh mai kais. I get that they need a certain […]
I will confess that I am not those bakers who can come up with recipes from thin air because I’m not that experienced enough to know how much goes into something. If I do that I’d probably bake a DISASTER cake or something. So to give myself more practise, I’m still coveting recipes from other […]
I made these muffins before to go with my chilli con carne but I had about half a bag of cornmeal left so I wanted to do this again. This muffins also happens to be my son’s fav. I just added one extra ingredient, which is the cheese, to the original recipe.
Strata is also known as breakfast casserole, but I can’t imagine myself eating this for breakfast. This should be an all-day breakfast thing. This strata is made with two leftover ingredients. One being the theme ingredient of course and the other is the meatloaf I made. We couldn’t finish it so I just stuff it into […]

I nicked this idea off Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals, well….in 30 minute meals, he created 4-5 dishes but I only made this pizza and garlic bread in 30 mins. I’ve made pizza dough before but it was those with yeast proofing and left overnight in the fridge. In a sense, it was a make-ahead dough […]
Ever since I started this blog, I have this tendency to purchase certain ingredients I normally would not buy on a normal basis and think of what I can do with it at home. This time round, it was zucchinis. I’m not a big fan of cucumbers, but strangely…I like zucchinis or courgettes. Whenever I […]
This is another pasta dish that I absolutely LOVE! Hailing from Sicily, this dish was named after Vincenzo Bellini’s opera ‘Norma‘. Norma could also be referred to as a superlative in Italian meaning ‘fantastic‘ and this dish is everything of that description.
It’s theme week! Wow, time whizzes by when you’re occupied. Theme week this time would be all about pasta. I would try to offer a variety of pasta dishes that can be easily made at home. The only extent I didn’t venture into would be to make pasta noodles from scratch. Not because I don’t […]
