Mini Nutella Palmiers

This came up from an impromptu baking need. But alas, it didn’t last very long from the oven to the table. 🙂 I have had this idea in my mind for quite some time and never got down to making it. It’s so easy, just 3 ingredients and a quick bake in the oven. I made them quite small because I wanted to just pop the whole thing in my mouth as though they were chips. My son enjoyed this very much. He wanted his Dad’s portion which I kept some behind.

The first roll, I cut the palmiers a little too thick and they expanded in the oven. Make sure to cut them rather thinly if you want them fast and crunchy. Because I was using puff pastry squares here, I could only roll the palmiers twice to the middle. I suppose if you use the sheet type and roll it out yourself, you’ll get more swirls in the middle. But I had a blast doing this, both eating and making it and was pretty bummed when it was gone cos it was the last batch of my puff pastry.

yalah, if i planned properly for this maybe, but i had those squares half a packet left so i just hantam this recipe. Turned out nice too. Of course if use sheets you get BIGGER palmiers.

Hi, Sharon. Nutella palmiers I haven’t try before, maybe I should give it a try one day. I use Kawan pastry, it really turns out great and crunchy.

I also used kawan puff pastry but it looks like you did a much better rolling job than me. Haha! Looking forward to your MFF entry angeline!

Looks like cinnamon rolls, and should be yummy since it has Nutella! 😉

Hi, how many sheets that u used? I used 1 sheet seemed too thin.

    • Sharon says:

Hi Jessica, it’s suppose to thin because they’re minis. I used 1 square sheet each time to roll. 1 square sheet yields about 6 small palmiers when cut. So i made 30, so that’s 5 square sheets altogether. If you want thicker, you can join the square sheets together to make a big square or just buy the puff pastry block to roll out.

OMG this looks so tasty I wanna eat all of ’em right now.

Question: What kind of oven do you use to make them (gas or electric?)
