Okay, today I’m feeling a bit better and more enthusiastic about writing again. Yesterday was Mother’s Day and hubster brought us all out for a Western dinner. But I’m reminded of my own mother and the sort of Western dishes she would make for us. My mom doesn’t cook Western very much, but I remember [...]

Tuscan Bean Soup
February 25th, 2012
Sharon Bean soup….hmmm, I don’t really get the concept of bean soup because for us here in Malaysia, that’s more of a hot dessert thing. But I’m game to try anything Italian because I find sometimes the name sounds fancier and harder than it really is. The weather is a bit wonky these days. It gets [...]
Eat More Vege – Parsley and Rocket Pesto
February 9th, 2012
Sharon I have never made pesto before and I must confess that I’m not a real fan of the basil ones. Well, I do…although technically, I have never tasted like real, authentic Southern food (eg; southern fried chicken, collard greens, shrimp and grits, cornbread, anything Cajun or Creole), but just reading about it or [...]
Butternut Squash Pasta – Back 2 Back
January 3rd, 2012
Sharon I love butternut squash, I personally think they have a better flavour to pumpkins but lately it’s been out of my budget to acquire more than I’d like to. So yeah, here I am always complaining about increasing food prices that you must be bored out of your wits to listen to me rant by [...]
Rocket & Mushroom Cannelloni
October 23rd, 2011
Sharon Family size serving Let me tell you, cannellonis are not easy to find in M’sian grocers. It’s only lately I saw an influx of this pasta. Actually, I’m beginning to see an influx of different, more unusual varieties of pastas in stores like huge rigatonis and orecchiette.
